BIOGRAPHY

Born in Milan, after graduating the Academy of Fine Arts "Brera", he took his degree in operatic singing at the Conservatory of Music "G. Verdi". He won the competition for soloists of Teatro alla Scala Academy, where he studied with L. Gencer, M. Freni, L. Serra and A. Bruson. He followed several Master Classes with important names such as M. Olivero, G. Simionato and S. Ganassi. He has perfected the technique and interpretation with A. M. Bicciato and R. Scandiuzzi.

He won numerous international  singing competitions, awarded by the first prize in "Martinelli Pertile" and "Giacomo Lauri-Volpi” contests. He received from Mirella Freni the "Nicolai Ghiaurov award 2008." He began his career in 2006, making his debut at Teatro alla Scala in "Pulcinella" by Stravinsky conducted by Ticciati, “Il Barbiere di Siviglia" in the role of Don Basilio with Ponnelle’s historic direction and "Salome" conducted by Harding.

He sang at Teatro alla Scala Schumann’s cycle "Spanisches Lieder" played by Vaughan, had a concert at the European Parliament in Strasbourg and at Teatro Dal Verme in Milan with “I Pomeriggi musicali" orchestra, conducted by Schellenberger. At Teatro Municipal in Lima, he performed Sparafucile in "Rigoletto" with Florez and Frontali, under the baton of Mariotti.

He debuted in the role of Sarastro in "Die Zauberflöte" at the Glyndebourne Festival and in major English theaters. After two As.li.co productions, Sparafucile in "Rigoletto" and Il Commendatore "Don Giovanni", he made his debut at Teatro La Fenice in Venice in “Don Giovanni” in the role of Il Commendatore, directed by Michieletto.

He was Don Basilio in “Il Barbiere di Siviglia" at Teatro Verdi in Sassari and Timur in "Turandot" at the Welsh National Opera, under the baton of Koenigs and the direction of Alden. He was invited to return to WNO in Cardiff for a new production of "Don Giovanni”, in the role of Il Commendatore, signed by Caird, and debuted "Aida" at Teatro Regio in Parma, Modena and Reggio Emilia. He opened the 2013/14 season at Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville with “Aida”.
He took part in "Simon Boccanegra" and "Nabucco" conducted by M°. Muti in Tokyo with Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. He was Don Basilio in "Barbiere di Siviglia” at Campoamor Theatre in Oviedo, under the baton of Dantone.

He took part in Aida's production of Teatro alla Scala in the role of Ramfis, conducted by M°. Mehta and the direction of Peter Stein. He sang Verdi’s Requiem at the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford and at Auditorio Principe Felipe in Oviedo among Meade, Grigolo and Cornetti.

He sang Mozart Requiem and Rossini's Stabat Mater at Basilica of San Marco in Milan for Expo 2015, Mozart's Requiem and Puccini's Messa di Gloria for Beirut Chant Festival.

In 2016 his return to Teatro alla Scala with the Filarmonica Orchestra conducted by M° Dantone in Strawinsky’s “Pulcinella" and recently his debuts as Raimondo Bidebent in "Lucia of Lamermoor" at Teatro Verdi Trieste and his presence in "Manon Lescaut" with Teatro dell’Opera of Roma tour in Tokyo conducted by M° Renzetti with the direction of C. Muti. He sang in “Trovatore” under the baton of M° Rolli.

Next engagements include Rossini Stabat Mater with L. Serra at Teatro Comunale in Treviso and his debut in the role of Il Colera in  the world premiere of “La Capinera” at Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania.

He is invited to the Auditorio de Tenerife to interpret "Turandot" in the role of Timur under the direction of the Maestro Bisanti. In 2022 at the Teatro Greco of Syracuse it was directed by M° Veronesi, subsequently he was engaged in the new production of "Il Trovatore" with direction signed by Deda Colonna.

After playing "Don Giovanni", he was invited as a guest to sing "Requiem" by G. Verdi at the Opera Nationala Româna in Cluj-Napoca.
